PRIVACY, IN PLAIN LANGUAGE
Your files stay with you.
This tool works on your device. Your selected files are not uploaded to Quiet Media Tools.
What the tool reads
When you choose a file, your browser reads it so the tool can create a clean copy. The filename is shown on screen. File contents and filenames are not sent to an analytics service or AI model by this app.
A separate file-processing area
On quietmediatools.com, the cleaner runs inside an isolated frame served from our Sites hosting address. The surrounding page cannot directly read that frame’s file input. The frame sends only its display height to the surrounding page so the layout can fit; it does not send file contents or filenames.
Direct links in the audio extractor
The audio extractor can fetch a direct HTTPS media-file link from its source website. That source receives the URL request and network information such as your IP address. The request omits cookies and a referring page address, and does not follow redirects. The source must permit browser access. A link that contains an access token is sent only to its source, so only use links you are permitted to access and avoid sharing private links.
The extractor does not send pasted URLs, file contents or filenames to the surrounding advertising page, an analytics service or an AI model. It does not store a history of pasted URLs. Source requests are different from uploading a local file: local files still stay on your device. TikTok, Instagram and YouTube post-link downloading and third-party download-service integrations are not currently enabled.
What your browser downloads
Your browser downloads the page, graphics, and processing software. The audio/video engine is about 31 MiB and loads on first media use. These software downloads are separate from your selected file.
Where files are kept
The tool uses browser memory and temporary browser-managed storage. It does not create an account or store your selected files in a server library. The media worker is terminated after processing or cancellation. Clearing a result releases its download link. Your browser may manage caching or temporary storage according to its settings.
Your downloaded copy
A clean copy is saved only when you use the download link. It remains on your device until you delete it. Your original file is never overwritten by the tool.
Optional advertising and your choices
The published website can show Adsterra banner ads after you choose “Allow advertising.” Declining ads leaves every tool available. Before you allow advertising, the site does not load Adsterra’s banner scripts or make advertising requests to that network. The file-processing frame contains no advertising code.
When ads are allowed, Adsterra (AD MARKET LIMITED) and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar identifiers, browser and device information, timestamps, and ad impressions and clicks to personalize, deliver and measure advertising. Ad requests disclose network information such as your IP address to the services receiving those requests. The site does not pass your selected files, filenames or extracted metadata into ad requests.
Read Adsterra’s privacy policy and its advertising cookie explanation for its data practices and rights/contact information.
Use “Ad choices” in the footer to allow or withdraw advertising. The site saves your choice in this browser for up to 180 days. Saving a new choice reloads the page and clears its current processing session, so download your clean copy first. Withdrawing prevents subsequent ad loads; it does not delete cookies already set by advertising services. You can delete those through your browser’s site-data settings and use the partners’ privacy controls for their retained data.
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the site keeps advertising off even if an earlier saved choice allowed it. Clearing browser storage or using a different browser may require another choice. If the site cannot read a valid saved preference, it does not load advertising.
Hosting and website requests
Sites hosts this publicly accessible website. The cleaner does not require an account or receive account credentials. Hosting providers may keep ordinary access logs for page and software requests. AdSense ownership verification uses a meta tag and ads.txt; Google advertising scripts are not currently loaded.
What metadata removal cannot promise
Removing embedded metadata does not make every file anonymous. Visible content, voices, invisible watermarks, encoded media packets, or external credential records can still reveal information. Read exactly what changes before sharing your clean copy.
Contact
For questions about the site or file privacy, email hello@quietemediatools.com. Avoid attaching private media; a description of the issue is enough to start. Information you choose to send by email is handled through email services, separately from local file processing.
