How to remove image metadata
Rebuild the image locally
The cleaner decodes the picture, draws it into a new image and removes optional metadata from the PNG output. It does not upload your photo.
Review your clean copy
Download the PNG and review its appearance before sharing. A visible address, face or landmark is still part of the photograph.

Before cleaning
A JPG may carry GPS coordinates, camera model and capture date in its EXIF profile.
After cleaning
The download is a PNG without those embedded fields. A street sign or recognizable location in the picture remains visible.
Before sharing the new image
- Review the downloaded PNG at full size, particularly its colors and orientation.
- Use a metadata viewer on the downloaded copy if you need an independent check of its embedded fields.
- Check the picture itself for addresses, documents and other personal information. Metadata removal does not make a photo anonymous.

Does this remove GPS location from photos?
Yes. Embedded GPS metadata is removed when a supported image is rebuilt as PNG. Location clues visible in the photograph remain.
Can I keep the JPG or WebP format?
This cleaner always exports PNG. It does not offer a same-format JPEG or WebP download, and the PNG may be larger than the input.
Will it remove AI labels or watermarks?
It removes embedded image metadata, including embedded C2PA manifests. It does not guarantee removal of watermarks, externally recoverable provenance or labels applied by a platform.
Why was my image rejected?
The image must be a still JPG, PNG or WebP, no larger than 20 MiB and no more than 4,096 pixels on either side. Damaged files, animated images and unsupported formats are rejected.
