How to remove audio metadata
Clean the container locally
The browser loads its media engine, copies supported encoded audio and removes descriptive metadata using checks specific to the file format.
Listen and inspect
Download the clean copy and check playback. A player may show the filename when artist, album and title tags are no longer available.
THE REMOVAL SCOPE
Different audio formats store tags differently.

Before cleaning
An MP3 may show an artist, album, title and cover image in a music player.
After cleaning
The clean copy retains the encoded audio while supported descriptions and artwork are omitted. A spoken name in the recording is still audible.
Before distributing a recording
- Listen to the downloaded copy and inspect its displayed tags in a media player.
- Reopen or reimport the copy if your music player is showing cached information from the original.
- Keep an archival original if you need authorship, licensing details, artwork or chapter information later.

Does this compress or convert my audio?
It copies supported encoded audio without re-encoding. The container may be rewritten, and required playback information remains. Unsupported files are not automatically converted with a lossy codec.
Does it remove names spoken in a recording?
No. It does not change audible content, remove sounds or scrub every kind of information inside encoded audio packets.
Why does my player still show information?
Players can cache earlier tags or display a filename or external library information. Inspect the downloaded file separately; required technical audio fields are intentionally retained.
